Parents’ consent to the child’s stay in the Czech Republic
Parents’ consent, or consent of other legal guardian, with the child’s stay in the Czech Republic is a document that must be provided when a parent or legal guardian will not be staying in the country together with the child.
Consent must be provided for the applications where required by law. Where consent is a required document, it must be provided until the child reaches the age of majority.
It is a document written in free form in Czech. The signature on the consent does not have to be certified.
Consent is not required in the cases when the parents, legal guardian or guardians submit the application for the child, or if they are staying in the country together with the child. However, if the child is staying in the Czech Republic only with its mother and its father is abroad, for example, it is necessary to provide the father’s consent.
Furthermore, consent is not required in the case of an application for a long-term residence permit, if the child is already staying in the Czech Republic with a long-term visa or a long-term residence permit for another purpose, and in the case of an application for a permanent residence permit, if the child is already staying in the Czech Republic with a long-term visa or a long-term residence permit.
Consent is also not required if it has been proved that it could not be provided for reasons beyond their control.
