Vacancy Number

Third country nationals who hold the Employee Card or the Blue Card can only be employed on positions registered in the Central Database of Vacancies for Employee Card holders and in the Central Database of Vacancies for Blue card holders. Vacancies registered in these databases are always particular vacant positions with particular employers. The vacancies are registered in the databases under a unique number. Holders of the Employee Card with free access to the labour market and vacancies requiring employment permits issued by the Czech Labour Office are exceptions.

When submitting the application for the Employee Card or the Blue Card, the Ministry of the Interior inspects the application and submitted documentation and compares it with the relevant vacant position registered in the Central Databases. This also applies when reporting a change in employment. It is obligatory to include the Vacancy number in the application, because of that it is important and necessary to know the Vacancy Number and include it in the documentation submitted with the application.

The Vacancy Number should be given to you by your employer.

It is possible that the vacancy might be tested by the “Labour Market Test”, which means that the vacancy is first available for potential candidates from the Czech Republic or the European Union. If the vacancy is not filled within 30 days from its publication by the Labour Office, it is registered in the Central Database of Vacancies for Employee Cards or in the Central Database of Vacancies for Blue Cards.
