Inadmissibility of an Application

An application is inadmissible when it is submitted under the circumstances for which the law lays down that if they occur, an application cannot be submitted. An application is also inadmissible if it does not meet the requirements for which the law stipulates that when unmet, the application cannot be submitted.

LONG-TERM AND PERMANENT RESIDENCE PERMITS

INADMISSIBILITY OF APPLICATION FOR A LONG-TERM VISA EXTENSION

A long-term visa application or an application to extend a long-term visa are inadmissible if:

  • you have not paid the administrative fee upon the application submission,
  • you have not provided the necessary documents (this does not apply if the application is submitted on behalf of a foreigner born in the Czech Republic),
  • you have not used an official form for the application,
  • you have refused that your fingerprints or visual record be taken.

If you submit your application at a diplomatic mission, it is also inadmissible if:

  • you have not made an appointment to submit your application in person beforehand in a way established by the diplomatic mission for the purpose of residence for which you are applying;
  • you submitted your application at a diplomatic mission that is not authorised to receive your application,
  • you did not submit your application in person provided that the diplomatic mission had not waived the obligation to submit the application in person,
  • you stated that you do not speak the language of the proceedings and within a reasonable time limit given by the diplomatic mission and at your own cost you did not arrange for an interpreter or a person who meets the requirements to be appointed as an interpreter in line with the Law on sworn interpreters and translators even though the diplomatic mission had informed you about this obligation.
