If the application is inadmissible, the administrative procedure is not initiated and the application is considered as if it had not been submitted . You will be informed about the inadmissibility of the application by the Ministry of the Interior or by the diplomatic mission in writing, including the reasons why the application was inadmissible. The resolution will be recorded on the file. The application form, provided documents and the administrative fee (if paid) will be returned to you.

If the diplomatic mission’s quota for submitting applications for a particular type of residence permit has been reached for the particular month, all subsequent applications are inadmissible by default.

A long-term visa application form or an application for extension of a long-term visa are inadmissible if:

• you have not paid the administrative fee upon the application submission,
• you have not provided the necessary documents (this does not apply if the application is submitted on behalf of a foreign national born in the territory of the Czech Republic),
• you have not used prescribed form for the application,
• you have refused the collection of your biometric data (fingerprints, visual record).

If you submit your application at a diplomatic mission, it is also inadmissible if:

• you have not made an in-person appointment for submission of an application in accordance with requirements specified by respective diplomatic missions,
• you submitted your application at a diplomatic mission that is not authorised to receive your application,
• you did not submit your application in person provided that the diplomatic mission had not refrained from the obligation to submit the application in person,
• you stated that you do not speak the processing language and within a reasonable time period set by the diplomatic mission and at your own expense you did not arrange for an interpreter or a person who meets the requirements stipulated by the Act on Court Interpreters and Court Translators even though the diplomatic mission had informed you about this obligation.

Applications for long-term and permanent residence permits, applications for long-term residence permit extension, or applications for permanent residence permit extension submitted at a diplomatic mission are inapplicable if:

• you have not made an in-person appointment for application submission in accordance with requirements specified by respective diplomatic missions,
• you submitted your application at a diplomatic mission that is not authorised to receive your application,
• you did not submit your application in person provided that the diplomatic mission had not refrained from the obligation to submit the application in person,

When applying for a long-term visa extension, all required documents must be submitted at the same time. You must pay an administrative fee (if a fee for long-term visa is stipulated by the law) and your application must be submitted on the prescribed application form.

Application for extension of visa for the purpose of tolerated stay must be submitted in person. In other instances, it is possible to submit applications via post or through the Data Box to the Ministry of the Interior. If you submit it through the Data Box, it is necessary to attach all documents (with the exception of your passport), either in their original electronic version, or converted into an electronic version through an authorized conversion. If the application is submitted via post or Data Box, you can attach an ordinary copy of the page in your passport or travel document reading your personal data. Do not send the originals of passports and travel documents via post.

If you submit your application via Data Box, and fee is stipulated by the law, you have to request payment details alongside your application and pay the fee.
